Upliftment and skills development were the order of the day when Heritage Life Centre and the NWU Puk Tawana football team took hands to host an interactive sports camp at Promosa Stadium on Saturday, 24 September. Learners from BA Seobi Secondary and Promosa Secondary School took part in this lifestyle skills day which forms part of a year-long upliftment programme.

Pukke players focused on various drills and fundamentals of soccer before the teams squared off in friendly matches, where each player wanted to impress on the field and emulate their heroes. “The first aim is to develop life and sports skills. We are in partnership with the NWU and they normally use this opportunity to scout for players as well,” said Eric McMillian from the Heritage Life Centre.

“Secondly, the focus is on leadership and character development. Skills and talent only take a person so far, character and leadership are really important to make a difference in one’s community. It is all about developing a well-rounded Godly character.”
