Jomo Cosmos continued its impressive home form with a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Witbank Spurs on Sunday, 30 October.
Goals from Matsilele Sono and Thato Lingwati were enough to send Ezenkosi to fourth place in the NFD log, six points behind table-topping Thanda Royal Zulu. Cosmos has collected a total of 11 points from their home games while taking four away. Cosmos’s previous away match was against Stellenbosch FC last Wednesday, which they lost 3-1. Cosmos will now face Mbombela United in what promises to be a tricky encounter for both sides. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.
Mbombela Utd, which contested the last season NFD/PSL playoffs, has made a poor start and is 13th on the log. Vusi Mkhatshwa will want an improved performance from his players. Cosmos will be boosted by the return of goalkeeper, Thabo Modiba.
