SANDF sporting stars honoured

The annual PMSC Sports Awards Function where the achievements of SANDF Sportsmen and -women for the Sport Year of 2016 were recognised was held on Wednesday, 15 February at the Senwes Cricket Stadium President’s Suite (Longroom).
The ability of sport to build bridges and inspire people to unite behind a common cause was once again proven during the function.
The function was attended by 90 members of PMSC, including various Officer’s Commanding, RSM’s, sportsmen and –women and friends of PMSC.
The following awards were handed out at the function:
PMSC Certificate of Recognition:
Maj L. Lackrajh for Black Ball Pool
Sgt B.L. Seleka for Combat Rifle Shooting
Sgt L. Maseko for Black Ball Pool
Bdr G.C. Maree for Black Ball Pool
L Bdr C. April for Cricket
PMSC Best Developed Member of the Year:
Pte T.A. Sito for Volleyball.
PMSC Sport Veteran of the Year:
Sgt D.M. Mogatle for Athletics.
PMSC Sport Official of the Year:
2Lt P.S. Mente for Rugby
PMSC Sport Administrator of the Year:
Maj H.L. Magabane for Soccer
Sportswoman of the Year award:
Sgt E.E. Roux for Combat Rifle Shooting.
PMSC Sportsman of the Year:
Pte J.J. Van Zyl for Combat Rifle Shooting.
Sport Club of the Year:
Black Ball Pool
On conclusion of the handing out of the various awards the Controlling authority of PMSC, Lt Col Christo Eicker thanked the management committee of PMSC, the office personnel of PMSC, the groundsmen, various sub-sport code chairpersons, Officer’s Commanding and RSM’s, as well as PMSC members for their hard work and continuous support towards PMSC and SANDF sport.
