Pukke’s netball and tennis teams started the 2017 USSA Championships in triumphant fashion with success on both courts on the opening day of the 2017 Championships that is taking place in Potchefstroom this week from 2-8 July.

Pukke’s netball ladies were too good for NMMU Madibaz as they romped to a convincing 59-19 victory. Marike Maree, Romé Dreyer, Mandy Hermanus and newcomer, Caitlinn Rousseau were just some of the Pukke players who did their university proud in an aggressive and fast paced match.

Pukke’s netball ladies upcoming fixtures in the Super League are as follows:

Monday 3 July 16:00 – Pukke vs Kovsies

Tuesday 4 July 11:30 – Pukke vs Tuks

Wednesday 5 July 10:00 – Pukke vs Maties

Wednesday 5 July 15:00 – Pukke vs UJ

The semi-finals will take place on Thursday with the final taking place on Friday at 15:00.

It was no different on the tennis front as Pukke dominated Rhodes University 12-0 on their home turf.

Pukke’s tennis players are in action at the following times this week in Pool A:

Tuesday 4 July – 08:30 – NWU Pukke vs NWU Mafikeng

Wednesday 5 July – 08:30 = NWU Pukke vs Kovsies

 

*The winner and runner up of Pool A will play in the semi-final matches on Thursday against their counterparts in Pool B. It will most likely be Maties or Tukkies that Pukke will face in the semi-final.
