Potchefstroom Boys’ High’s first rugby team went on an attacking spree this past weekend as they blitzed past Edenvale High by 41-5 on the home field of College on Saturday, 24 March.
It was an absolute joy to witness the attacking intent that Boys High’s team showed throughout the 70 minutes as they tore through the opposition defence at will.
It was especially in the backline where the likes of Vuyo Sindwa and Uyanda Konjwayo shone. Sindwa also scored the first try after some slick passing created a massive overlap. Sindwa gleefully accepted the opportunity with a swan dive in celebration. The second try from Konjwayo was just as impressive as he shrugged off a couple of defenders before bulldozing his way to five points in the corner.
Even though the boys in navy blue and orange had a 21–5 half-time lead, they never took their feet off the accelerator and accumulated 20 more points in a fine second-half display. This delighted the College Boys in attendance who shouted encouragement as they only can, with ‘whooh ha’, ‘yes’ and ‘score us a try’ reverberating from the stands for the entire match.
