NWU Hockey had a productive time when they hosted two coaching clinics for u.16 and u.18 hockey players from various school across the country last week.
The u.18 clinic took place from 3 to 6 April and the u.16 clinic was held at the NWU Astro and Potchefstroom Gimnasium from 6 to 9 April. ‘A total of 41 schools took part in the u.18 clinic and 37 schools participated in the u.16 clinic. The main aim of these clinics was to improve skills and promote NWU hockey,’ said the NWU women’s first team hockey coach, Shaun Hulley.
The first and second team players from NWU hockey facilitated the clinics and gave the young hockey players sound advice which they can take to the fields ahead of the school hockey season coming this winter.
