The North West Flames experienced their first winless weekend in the 2018 Brutal Fruit Netball Premier League on 2–3 June when their match against the Free State Crinums ended in a 50–50 stalemate. They then lost the second match against the defending champions, Gauteng Jaguars by 52–42. The Flames will face the Mpumalanga Sunbirds in round 5 this coming weekend (Saturday, 9 June) in what should be an easy win against the 6th-placed team on the log.
