Danielle Verster follows in her parents footsteps

Local Potch Gimmies athlete, Danielle Verster, daughter of the well-known Jean Verster, won a gold medal in the u.16 category with a stunning run.

The top cross-country ath- letes of Athletics Central North West (ACNW) achieved a total of eight medals at the SA Cross Country Cham- pionships in Pretoria on Saturday, 7 September.

Local Potch Gimmies athlete, Danielle Verster, daughter of the well-known Jean Verster, won a gold medal in the u.16 category with a stunning run.

She was the only athlete to achieve gold, with ACNW gaining a total of three silver and four bronze medals at the SA champs. Verster finished her four-kilometre race in a winning time of 13:45. Other performers who stood out were Nollie Meintjies’ duo, Cara du Preez (Junior women) and Minette Bell (Women 40) who both took second places.
