NW Dragons ready for Border clash with blend of youth and experience

Expect another dry and dusty surface at Senwes Park with rain being a scarcity in Spring thus far in the city.

The North West Dragons will kick start their 2019/20 Provincial 3-day and Provincial one day campaign this weekend in Potchefstroom when they will take on Border.

Expect another dry and dusty surface at Senwes Park with rain being a scarcity in Spring thus far in the city. The ball should race to the boundary – if batsman can get to grips with the pitch. Spinners should have a field day again and top players such as Lesego Senokwane and Johannes “JD” Diseko should get some purchase off the pitch. Expect debutant, Henro Janse van Resnburg to also add his voice on a turning pitch with his off-spin.

The Dragons will look to Senokwane, Wihan Lubbe, Yassar Cook and Shane Dadswell to contribute with most of the runs.

Border will lean on Mkhululi Calana, Jason Niemand and Aya Gqamane to hit the runs. Phaphama Fojela and Clayton Bosch will look to do the damage for the East London based side with the ball.

The 3 day match begins tomorrow (Thursday, 17 Ocotber) with the ball being bowled at 10:00.

North West Squad: Lesego Senokwane, Shane Dadswell, Nic Smit, Wihan Lubbe, Yassar Cook, Khanya Cotani, Bradley Lynch – wk, Henro Janse van Rensburg, Brady Barends (captain), Johannes Diseko, Chad Classen, Katleho Leokaoke (12th man)
