The Lions and Cobras are set to sink their teeth into their first bite of Momentum One Day Cup cricket at Senwes Park today (Friday, 22 January). The match is currently taking place as both teams would like nothing more than to start off strong with a win in Pool B. The Cobras skipper, Zubayr Hamza, won the toss and chose to make use of the sunny conditions first.
That choice was justified as the Cobras powered to 122/3 after 28 overs with Proteas opener and former NW Dragons opener, Janneman Malan, hitting 67 for the Cape based team. The Lions’ Sisanda Magala, Delano Potgieter and Bjorn Fortuin picked up the wickets of Tony de Zorzi, Hamza and Malan respectively.
