ACNW youngsters stake claim at Sub-Youth champs

ACNW bagged 11 medals, consisting of two gold, five silver and four bronze, to place them in the overall sixth place during a rain-shortened event.

The young, up-and-coming talent of Athletics Central North West (ACNW) stamped their authority on the recent Sub-Youth (u.7–u.15) Interprovincial Championships in Germiston on Saturday, 27 November.

ACNW bagged 11 medals, consisting of two gold, five silver and four bronze, to place them in the overall sixth place during a rain-shortened event. Athletics Free State was the top-performing athletics union with 17 medals.

ACNW medalists were as follows:

Gold Carli Visser: Girls’ u.13 200 m hurdles – 29.76 Dianie du Preez: Girls’ u.11 long jump – 4.58 metres.

Silver Anke Jacobs: Girls’ u.13 javelin – 31.41 Alrike Hattingh: Girls’ u.9 600 m – 1:58.70 Simoné Bezuidenhout: Girls’ u.11 long jump – 4.52 metres Skye Taute: Girls’ u.7 60 metres – 10.15 Wian Boshoff: Boys’ u.11 1,200 metres – 3:48.24.

Bronze Stephané Hook: Girls’ u.13 javelin – 31.40 metres Roubaix Reynecke: Girls’ u.9 600 m – 1:59.40 Hayley Lues: Girls’ u.11 1,200 m – 4:09:51 Chloe Vermeulen: Girls’ u.11 long jump – 4.48 metres Alex van Alleman: Boys’ u.7 60 metres – 10.02.
