North West Dragons name strong team to face Titans

Nono Pongolo and Duan Jansen add batting depth at 8 and 9 with debutant Ndumiso Mvelase featuring as a spinning option at 10.

The North West Dragons will continue their CSA 4-day campaign today (Thursday, 13 January) against the Titans at the J.B. Marks Oval with captain, Nicky van den Bergh and top all rounder, Senuran Muthusamy back in the starting 11.

Dragons head coach, Monty Jacobs, has chosen a strong line-up with no injuries forcing selection.

Regular openers Wesley Marshall and Lesego Senokwane will want to continue their good form at the top. Shaylen Pillay is in good form after his unbeaten 156 against the Dolphins.

Experienced batsman, Heino Kuhn, is yet to fire this season and will want to get to his first half-century for the Dragons against one of his former sides, the Titans.

Lesego Senokwane raises his bat after reaching a half-century. His teammate, Shaylen Pillay, congratulating him, scored an unbeaten 156.

Van den Bergh, Muthusamy and Potgieter complete a solid middle order line-up. Both Potgieter and Muthusamy will also be key components of the bowling department for the Dragons.

Nono Pongolo and Duan Jansen add batting depth at 8 and 9 with debutant Ndumiso Mvelase featuring as a spinning option at 10. Jesse James Albanie will add to the fast bowling stocks in his second game for the Dragons at 11.

Bowling-wise, the Dragons feature a lot of variation in their side, with left armer, Duan Jansen, right arm pacer, Albanie as well as Potgieter (medium-fast) and Muthusamy (left arm spin). Mvelase will also want to make a good impression after a long injury layoff with his right arm off-breaks.
