Ibbies, Taurus and Potch Dorp 1 get big wins

Ibbies, the league leaders, kept their unbeaten record with a 352-run victory against the Geek Academy at the NWU Oval.

Ibbies, the league leaders, kept their unbeaten record with a 352-run victory against the Geek Academy at the NWU Oval. Ibbies scored a massive 406/5 before steamrolling the visitors for only 54 all out. Ibbies’ JP King (121 off 127) and Corne Viljoen (118* off 60) scored two brilliant centuries.

Stefan Maree (5/8) was the best bowler for Ibbies. He is also the leading wicket-taker this season with 15 wickets.  NWU Taurus also got the better of NWU Colts with a 109 run victory at the Ibbies Oval. Taurus batsman, Reinhardt Engler scored a fantastic 104 (133) in their total of 242/5. The young Colts team could only manage 133 all out.

In a Potch Dorp 1 vs Potch Dorp 2 derby, the former completed an easy 9-wicket victory. Potch Dorp 2 scored 113 all out. Eben Verster contributed with an unbeaten 44 (42), but Hanro Swanepoel’s 6/35 tore the heart out of the batting lineup. Potch Dorp 1’s Van Zyl Smit 63* (52) lead his team to victory with a fine knock.
