The second edition of the Letsgo Potch road race presented by OppiKampus Student Accomodation will have a new starting venue and route this Saturday, 29 October with runners taking off at Cachet Park CID in search of fantastic times and medals around their necks.
This race which is an initiative of Shofar Church Potchefstroom, promises to be bigger and better with a 42.2 marathon distance, which will act as a Comrades Marathon qualifier. Distances will also include 21.1, 10 and 5km races ensuring that there will be a race to suit the experienced runner as well as those making their road race debuts.

Letsgo Potch will look to build on the success of their debut event in 2021. This year, Jerry Motsau, Elroy Gelant and Comrades 2022 third place finisher, Adele Broodryk, will grace the event to add extra star power.

The 42.2km race will start at 05:30, the 21.1km race at 06:00, the 10km race at 06:30 and the 5km race at 07:00.
The route:

The route will see all runners head off from Cachet Park in Borcherds street. Runners will then turn left into Molen street before turning left again into Gerrit Dekker street past the NWU Astroturf. Runners turn right towards the Dam Area. The 5km runners turn back on the same route towards Cachet Park. The 10,21 and 42km runners go through the Dam area before going back on the same route.
The 21.1 and 42.2km runners will take another route going past Cachet Park into Meyer street and going over the bridge. Organisers are asking motorists to be extra vigilant in that area when runners are passing through the Meyer Street bridge area.
Runners will then turn into the Potchefstroom Army Support Base before running across the R53 road to Ventersdorp towards Eleazer road before returning back on the same route towards Cachet Park.
It all promises to be a fantastic event that will unite the community of Potchefstroom.
