Classic Clash was an event to remember

"The atmosphere created by our supporters throughout the day was simply outstanding and showcased the strength of our support."

Mohau Mohlahleli: Head of SportPotch Boys High, writes:

As Head of Sport, I could not be prouder of what was achieved during this inaugural Classic Clash. While the victories across various sporting codes were certainly pleasing, what filled me with the greatest sense of pride was witnessing the unity, passion, and commitment displayed by the entire Potchefstroom Boys’ High family.

I would like to pay special tribute to our exceptional staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes for weeks to ensure that every aspect of the event was executed to the highest standard. Their dedication, professionalism, and willingness to go the extra mile played a significant role in making the day such a resounding success.

To our parents, thank you for your unwavering support. Whether travelling long distances, standing on the sidelines in all weather conditions, or continuously encouraging our boys, your presence and belief in the school make an immeasurable difference. The atmosphere created by our supporters throughout the day was simply outstanding and showcased the strength of our support.

From the sporting side of the day, I believe our boys truly represented the school with pride, discipline, and a strong sense of unity across all codes.

There was a clear standard set in terms of effort, attitude, and commitment, and it showed in the way every team carried themselves on and off the field.

The highlight, without a doubt, was our 1st team rugby side securing victory in the Classic Clash. That win was more than just a result it reflected weeks of preparation, resilience under pressure, and a collective belief that never dropped, even in the toughest moments of the match. Moments like that remind us why we invest so much into school sport: it builds character, it builds brotherhood, and it creates memories that last far beyond the final whistle.

Overall, I am genuinely proud of all our sporting teams. Whether they won, lost, or drew, every group contributed to the spirit of the day and upheld the values of our school. As Head of Sport, it is encouraging to see the progress we are making, and even more exciting to see the foundation we are building for the future.
