NW Hawks arrest eight suspects for card cloning

The Hawks in North West have arrested Tshidiso Donald Phokwane (34) and seven other suspects aged between 25 and 50 for allegedly cloning cards.

The Hawks in North West have arrested Tshidiso Donald Phokwane (34) and seven other suspects aged between 25 and 50 for allegedly cloning cards.

According to acting Hawks spokesperson, Manase Phukubye, the Hawks conducted a major investigation after several complaints of card cloning as well as card swipe have been reported within the Province.
‘All suspects appeared in different Courts and were released on bail at the amount of R5000 each and they will appear again on 10 March 2017 for further investigation,’ he said.
Maj. Gen. Mbana, the Provincial Head of the Hawks, said card cloning will not be tolerated in this Province; this has a negative impact on the economy of the Country. Furthermore, she said these heartless criminals are targeting vulnerable victims who also receive grants from the Government.
