Playground equipment refreshed

Team work makes hard work easy.

Randburg Home Affairs has been spruced up and turned into a child friendly environment.

Ward 104 Councillor Mike Wood and a team of committee members tackled the rusty playground equipment inside a court yard in the building.

“Many parents are forced to bring their children with them to Home Affairs because they have no other way. The playground equipment has seen better days and the colours were dull and faded,” Wood said.

John Taylor and Sheerina Singh tackled the equipment armed with paint brushes and tins of bright coloured paint on 17 October.

Taylor said, “It was a timely process but it was worth every second.”

Wood added that the next planned project is to beautify the garden surrounding the department.

“The garden is not maintained on a regular basis. We are also on the lookout for a company that can sponsor us chairs where people can sit while their children are play around outside,” said Taylor.

“I want to thank Singh and Taylor for their hard work. It shows that we can make a difference by working together.”
