The adoption process is as follows:

  • Choose the animal you want to adopt, however, if you have dogs, you would have to do a compatibility test at the SPCA.
  • Fill out the adoption application and pay a R50 non-refundable deposit fee. Submit all necessary documents (proof of physical address, ID copy and signed letter from the landlord or body corporate before home check is done)
  • If you live in Randburg, the SPCA inspectors will conduct a home inspection.
  • If you live outside of Randburg, the SPCA inspectors in your area will conduct a home inspection.
  • Feedback is given and if approved, the applicant will be required to pay the adoption fee.
  • Pre-home result is emailed back to the SPCA.
  • Your new pet will be sent to the vet the next working day.
  • Your new pet will be ready for collection the same afternoon or next morning.
