Old Parks sports club hosts major E-Fit Festival

Nishaan Kishore said that for decades Old Parks Sports club was a traditional sports club that excelled. However, with modern times comes adaptation and they want to combine some fitness activities including having fun and beating your friends in your favourite games.

Old Parks Sports Club hosted its first-ever E-Fit Festival on February 25.

Executive member of the Old Parks Sports Committee Nishaan Kishore said, “The objective [of the e-gaming festival] is to bring people of all ages to unite regardless of their caste, colour, creed or gender.”

The event was free and youngsters came in their numbers and were spoilt for choice with many types of games such as FIFA and Minecraft.

“We did not forget about guys that come from the [older] generation. We had arcade games and someone even won the entire arcade game. He was about 55 years old. These gaming tournaments do not have age limits. There were lots of games that the community played and enjoyed.”

He added that they had free internet and free game consoles. “Everything was free to expose the children who do not have the chance to play these games at home, as well as the children who play these games often, to come and play even more. We want the youngsters to become tomorrow’s leaders in this club.”

He said this kind of environment prevented children from doing drugs, drinking alcohol, and hanging around the streets.

Kishore said the event was a success with more than 250 families attending.
