Excited learners from all grades raced to have their hair sprayed in a variety of colours of their choice. The Grade 10s chose this project for their 10 hours of community service and were responsible for the spraying of fellow learners and teachers who donated to have their hair sprayed.

Learner and head of the Community Outreach team Bukhosi Makhalima said, “We had a lot of dedicated Grades 10s who volunteered for community service hours. The support from the younger kids as well was incredible. It means a lot and shows that the younger generation wants to make a difference.

“This a tradition we have had for years, it is something we always look forward to as the school. To be able to raise some money for cancer patients is big for us and we hope it makes a difference.”
The highlight of the day was when teacher Sara Oberholzer cut her hair short and learner Seth Coote shaved his head for the cause.
