Honeydew CPF boosts safety with awareness drive

Bringing together SAPS and private security, Honeydew CPF's latest awareness campaign aims to raise awareness and encourage safer neighbourhood practices through public engagement.

The Honeydew Community Policing Forum (CPF) continued its mission to build a safer community with another successful crime awareness campaign, this time at the intersection of Honeydew Road West and Northumberland Avenue.

CPF patrollers, joined by members of the Honeydew SAPS and local security companies, took to the streets to speak with residents and road users. They handed out pamphlets packed with helpful safety advice, encouraging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activity.

According to the CPF, these ongoing campaigns are part of a larger effort to improve public safety and build stronger relationships between law enforcement, private security, and the community.

“We are thankful to our partners at Honeydew SAPS and the local security firms who showed up in numbers,” said Honeydew CPF public relations officer Michael Steyn. “Their support helps us reach more people and remind everyone that community safety is a shared responsibility.”

The CPF says it will continue hosting these awareness drives at key areas around Honeydew. They believe that, when residents are informed and involved, crime can be reduced, and neighbourhoods can become safer places for everyone.

Residents are encouraged to follow the Honeydew CPF on Facebook and join their WhatsApp channel to receive regular safety updates, crime prevention tips, and opportunities to take part in future campaigns.

“Together, we can build a strong, secure, and united Honeydew,” said Steyn.
