Trinityhouse Pre-Primary School event celebrates arts in education

With inspiring speakers and interactive workshops, the Trinityhouse Pre-Primary mini summit celebrated the role of arts in making learning more engaging, meaningful, and accessible for all.

Trinityhouse Pre-Primary School, in Randpark Ridge, was filled with colour, energy, and excitement as it hosted a lively mini summit, under the theme: The arts supporting and enhancing teaching and learning.

The event welcomed 100 delegates from schools across South Africa, offering a space for teachers to learn together, share ideas, and explore how the arts can be used to improve teaching in the classroom.

The day was packed with activities, including inspiring talks by guest speakers, classroom walkabouts, hands-on learning sessions, and a powerful music workshop that ended the summit on a high note.

Every part of the programme was carefully planned to show how creative arts can help make learning deeper, more fun, and more inclusive for young learners.

Schools from across the Trinityhouse family took part, including Glenvista, Centurion, and Little Falls. Partner schools, from the Bridge campuses in Lonehill and Morningside, were also there, while Glenwood House School and Greenwood Bay School joined from the Western Cape, bringing fresh ideas and diverse experiences to the day.

Notable guest speakers included the team from Glenwood House School, along with passionate educators Caryn Bakewell and Talita Graham. They shared stories and practical ideas from their own classrooms, inspiring others to bring more creativity into their teaching.

The Trinityhouse Pre-Primary team thanked all the educators who attended and contributed to a day full of learning, reflection, and growth.

The summit was a joyful celebration of the arts in education, and a reminder that meaningful change can begin with one inspired teacher and one creative classroom.
