Randburg artist Nipho Mkhize on the right path

Randburg’s 25-year-old entertainer Nipho Mkhize dropped out as a law student at university to pursue music. Mkhize started his music journey at the age of 16, when he used to entertain at school events.
He describes himself as a multi-talented entertainer who is also a voice-over artist, YouTuber and a freelancer. Mkhize said that when fellow local artist Blxkie made his breakthrough in the music industry, that’s when he became motivated and saw that he was on the right path.

“With regards to the criticism and negative comments that I get from people, I don’t pay heed to them as I believe that people talk bad about you if you are doing something correctly, and music for me is a platform where I get to express my emotions and wish to unite people around me through music,” he added.

The multitalented artist mentioned that some of his favourite projects had been collaborations with other artists.
“I believe it is important for us to support each other, especially if you are a creator, and when it comes to my family, they have been very supportive of me transitioning from law to music, even though it was a major change.”

The music and media industry continues to grow rapidly, with many youngsters gravitating towards it and seeing it as a platform where they can generate an income for themselves.
