Confident Grade 1s from Radley Private School shine on first day

Families and teachers welcomed a confident intake, as Grade 1 learners settled quickly, enjoyed classroom tasks, and proudly represented their school on local radio.

The Radley Private School Grade 1 learners of 2026 made a confident and positive start to their school journey, impressing teachers and parents on their very first day.

According to Principal Charne’ De Gouveia, the learners arrived calm and eager, with no tears in sight. The children walked into their classrooms confidently and settled in quickly, showing excitement for the year ahead.

From the start, the learners showed determination and a willingness to work. Teachers noted how happily the Grade 1s took part in classroom activities and followed instructions, setting a strong tone for the year.

The learners’ confidence extended beyond the classroom. Some of the Grade 1s were interviewed on the 94.7 Thando Drive show, where they spoke proudly and confidently about their first day at school.

De Gouveia said the school is thrilled with the way the learners handled their first day and believes this confidence will support their growth throughout the year.

“We are super excited for the year ahead with our Grade 1s and look forward to seeing their entrepreneurial spirit grow,” she said.

The strong and calm start has left staff optimistic about a successful and rewarding school year for the Grade 1 class of 2026.
