Harriers run, donate and support

MALANSHOF – The Randburg Harriers start off the year with a time trial dedicated to the collection of stationery for underprivileged schools.

Come rain, come shine, the Randburg Harriers will run.

The club commenced with their first themed Thursday evening time trial on 15 January, however, this one was exceptionally special (See Previous story for another themed time trial event.)

Accurately themed and titled, Back to School/ Back to Work, the club asked its members to give a little and donate any stationery or school supplies.

Large bags and bins were filled to the brim with stationery of all types.

”Our generous club members certainly surpassed our expectations,” said Zoë Brentano, the Randburg Harriers Committee member who arranged the charity drive.

“Some of the donations were brand new, while some club members took the opportunity to clear some of their surplus stocks. All of the goods will be

donated to a suitable primary school in the Randburg area,” she added.

The next grand run that the Randburg Harriers will host is the famous 27th KFC Randburg Harriers 10 km Valentine’s Night Race, which takes place on 13 February at 7pm.

Entry forms can be collected at the club on 12 February from 3.30 to 7.30 or 13 February from 4pm onwards.
