Alan Toweel fighter clinches a win at Emperors Palace

Randburg boxer Tuvia Wewege hopes to get back in the ring soon after a comfortable win against Jonathan Sam.

Randburg boxer Tuvia Wewege took on Jonathan Sam of Roodepoort in a light heavyweight contest on the undercard of the ‘Titans of Africa’ Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace’s Centre Court.

Wewege, who trains under the watchful eye of Alan Toweel in Linden, worked hard to go home with a unanimous points decision victory after the judges scored the fight 60-54, 59-55 and 58-56 in his favour.

The talented boxer said that it was a good win, and his opponent was not as strong as he thought.

“I’m just happy with the win. I had a higher work rate and threw more punches. I never had a problem with confidence, but it feels good to win again.”

He said that he is always training hard and listening to his team. “We are only getting better from here.”

He further stated that their strategy in the fight was to throw more punches and work the body.

“I feel I should’ve done more, but what I did was enough to win. I just want to get a few more wins and possibly challenge for the SA title. “

The talented fighter added that he would love to fight again as soon as possible. “I took no damage in this fight, so I’m ready to fight again soon.”
