The Billionaires celebrate love with their latest release Umaqondana

Music duo, The Billionaires, released a love-dedicated single titled Umaqondana on February 13, dedicated to all those that have found love, or are still searching.

The Randpark Ridge music duo The Billionaires are making waves in the music scene with their latest single, Umaqondana, a love song they released on February 13, just a day before Valentine’s Day.

The award-winning DJs, made up of the couple Ngcebo Mdima and Karabo Motlogelwa, have been delivering a special gift of love with their new single, in collaboration with soulful vocalist Nomanzi, and Khayzinho as contributing producer. The pair, who are also celebrating 10 years together, are not strangers in the music scene. They also own Charlie Communication, a marketing company for artists.

Mdima, who hails from KwaZulu-Natal, has always been in love with music. He explained that Umaqondana translates from IsiZulu into an exuberant celebration of finding ‘the one’. It’s more than just a track; it’s a movement. “The song serves as an anthem for anyone who has ever triumphed in the journey of the heart. As the industry’s first-ever queer couple duo, we have built our career on the pillars of unity and inclusivity.”

With Umaqondana, they lean into their signature RnB and afro house, mixed with 3-Step roots, to create a rhythmic sanctuary for lovers everywhere.
Motlogelwa, who grew up in Soweto, has been playing music since his school days. He said they wanted this song to be a special gift to their supporters. “It is a wish for everlasting pure love for those who have found it, and a reminder to those who are still single to never stop looking or believing. Love is for everyone.”

The duo, known for their award-winning visuals and high-energy performances, continue to redefine the South African music landscape. Umaqondana follows a string of successes, including their acclaimed Extended Play (EP) Sons of The Soil and the club bangers Isimemo and Nyamazane, further solidifying their place as trailblazers in the industry.

They urge the community to download the song and fall in love all over again. Umaqondana was released on all major streaming platforms on February 13.
