Mohlakeng church hosts Aids Day event
"We will be praying not only for the infected but for the affected people as well."
The Mohlakeng Ministers Fellowship will be hosting a candlelight ceremony on World Aids Day which is marked on 1 December at the St John Prophecy Church.
The ceremony will start at 10am.
This will be in remembrance of those who have died owing to the HIV and Aids pandemic as well as people who are infected and affected by it.
According Reverend Joseph Magoai who is a secretary at the Mohlakeng Minister Fellowship, a group of priests from Mohlakeng and Randfontein will take part in this ceremony and residents are also urged to join in.
“We will be praying not only for the infected but for the affected people as well.
“We urge that people show support and join us in this initiative.
“It is through God that we can overcome such obstacles in life and we really need to give hope to others.
“I want to encourage people to be there for each other, especially in times of difficulty and to get rid of the stigma attached to the pandemic,” says Magoai.
