Randfontein Show posters stolen

Most of the posters advertising the Randfontein Show along the R28 were stolen.

The organizers of the annual Randfontein Show are up in arms over the apparent theft of approximately 36 advertisement posters along the R28 between Krugersdorp and Randfontein.

According to Randfontein Publicity Association publicity officer Joy Hamann, this is the first time that show posters have gone missing.

“We’ve never experienced anything like this before.

“There have been instances where two or three posters went missing, but never to this extent.

“The theft of show posters could impact negatively on show attendance as it is a major part of our publicity campaign for the show.

“We put blood, sweat and tears into the Randfontein Show every year and we are not doing it for ourselves but for the town of Randfontein.”

According to Hamann, each show poster costs approximately R60, which means that the RPA will have to cough up a further R2 160 to replace the missing posters.

The RPA has urged the community to report anyone stealing their posters by calling the Show office on 011 412 1562.
