Two men were arrested in Bekkersdal on Sunday, 4 March, after they were caught in possession of what is suspected to be a stolen plasma TV.
The two men, who are aged 21 and 24, were arrested in an open field near the graveyard after police received a tip-off, to which they responded swiftly.

When questioned by the police, one of the suspects said he was taking the TV to fix it, but he could not tell the police who the owner was.
The two suspects were then placed under arrest and charged with possession of suspected stolen property.
The station commander, Colonel Abraham Nkhwashu, applauded them for making the arrests and expressed his gratitude to the member of the community for tipping-off the police.
“It is important to report every crime as it happens to the police, as some of the stolen properties are not accounted for. Remember to mark or keep records of all your property, specifically appliances,” he said.
