Mohlakeng man caught with illegal firearm

Man, 27, arrested by the Randfontein Police for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition. Details here:

A 27-year-old man was recently arrested by the Randfontein Police for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.

Captain Appel Ernt, Randfontein Police spokesperson said, “It is alleged by the police officers they were conducting routine patrols one Saturday morning in May when they spotted a vehicle which seemed suspicious, driving out of Oasis Manor.

“They followed the vehicle and on the Old Location Road in Mohlakeng, they were able to pull the vehicle over. They searched the vehicle and found a firearm and ammunition inside the vehicle. The driver could not account for the firearm and ammunition.”

He was arrested and detained at the Randfontein Police Station.
