It’s alleged that his parents were home when he arrived and demanded keys to his backroom. When the father said there were no keys, he started breaking the furniture,” said Sergeant Linkie Lefakane from the Bekkersdal Police.

The father decided to walk to the police station to report the matter, however, when he was on his way, he received a call that his son had set their home on fire.

“A case of arson was opened and the suspect was subsequently arrested. He is to appear again in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court for his bail application on Monday February 14,” Sergeant Lefakane added.
