Housebreaking and theft quite high in Randfontein – Mapogo crime report

Two incidents of housebreaking and theft and one incident of attempted housebreaking and theft, all in one day.

It was a relatively quiet week for Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s client base in Randfontein.

Operations manager at Mapogo, Ben Willemse said only three incidents were reported for the period between Monday, February 7 and Sunday, February 13.

A breakdown of the incidents:

• Wednesday, February 9 at 12:44 – Attempted housebreaking, Lewerick Street, Helikonpark. Intruders lifted the gate from its rails and forced open the safety gate and door to gain entry. The alarm activated and the thugs fled the scene without taking anything.

• Wednesday, February 9 at 13:38 – Housebreaking and theft, Kwartel Street, Greenhills. Intruders lifted the gate from its rails and forced open the safety gate and front door to gain entry into the house. They stole a laptop computer and a tablet.

• Wednesday, February 9 at 13:47 – Housebreaking and theft, Duiker Street, Greenhills. Intruders forced open the main gate and entered the premises. They broke open the security gate and wooden front door. They stole two flat-screen TVs and fled the scene in a silver VW vehicle.
