On September 16, a multi-vehicle crash close to the Greenhills Cemetery claimed the lives of two people. The collision involved a truck, a minibus and a light motor vehicle.

The day of the collision, MacGregor quickly made his way to the scene. Since he knows first aid, he wanted to rush to the scene in case he could be of help before paramedics arrived. He is now stepping forward to warn residents of the danger the road poses.

The minibus and vehicle were involved in the collision.

“My deepest condolences go out to the family. It was a very tragic sight. People must learn to drive safely – especially on this road.

This accident should stand as a wake-up call for motorists to prioritise road safety,” he said.

He further explained that his job as a patroller is to make their way to the scene as fast as possible and to assist. He added that if necessary, a patroller can also save lives.
