Toekomsrus mass shooting leaves four dead, suspects still at large

Four people were killed in a shooting in Toekomsrus Ext 4, with police hunting for suspects who fled the scene after opening fire.

Police are investigating four counts of murder following a deadly shooting at a house in Toekomsrus on Friday, June 19.

According to Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, five coloured men driving a silver-grey Kia Picanto entered the victims’ home and opened fire before fleeing the scene without taking anything.

All four victims, aged between 21 and 39, were declared dead at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains unknown and forms part of an ongoing police investigation.

No arrests had been made at the time of publication.
