It’s not a dam, it’s Greenhills’ monster pothole

'They would install speed humps in Greenhills Avenue rather than put tar into the pothole. We as taxpayers continue to pay money but council is simply wasting it' – resident.

The monster pothole that was once filled up on North Way Road in Greenhills has resurfaced again causing a headache for local motorists.

This is word from community member Frans le Grange who said that the pothole has been left unattended for weeks.

“The pothole has been here for weeks, and it has been brought to the municipality’s attention. They have, however, not attended to it and it seems to be getting worse due to the rainy weather. The biggest problem is they would install speed humps in Greenhills Avenue rather than put tar into the pothole. We as taxpayers continue to pay money but council is simply wasting it,” said Le Grange.

He added that he plans on engaging various provincial and national departments to attend to his complaints.

This according to Le Grange will expose what he calls the “incompetence” of the local municipality.

The Herald reached out to Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who acknowledged the complaint.

“We will dispatch the relevant team to assess the road in question,” he said.
