Repairs continue at Market Substation

Rand West City Local Municipality has provided an update regarding the power outage that has left residents without electricity for almost a week.

Municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa has commented on the progress of repairs at the Market Substation in Randgate, explaining that the two faulty transformers are being removed. He added the relocation of the spare transformer from the Drowel Substation to the Market Substation has commenced.

A municipal statement issued on Wednesday, January 22 also claimed that a schedule of the repair programme will be provided today, January 23.
