Municipality accelerates pothole repair efforts

Motorists can now enjoy a smooth road after the municipality fixed the threatening pothole in Kenneth Road. 'We're just getting started' – the municipality said.

Rand West City Local Municipality said they are focused on addressing the most severe potholes to improve road conditions for residents.

Recently, they were seen fixing the hazardous pothole at the intersection of Kenneth Road and Homestead Avenue. Since the heavy rainfalls, the pothole has been growing bigger. However, the municipality took it upon themselves to gather a team of devoted workers to fix the pothole. The workers also cleaned the drains at the intersection to ensure that the rainfall did not flood the road.

“We are thrilled to announce that we are actively tackling the issues faced by our motorists and the entire community. Our journey has begun with an exciting plan to rehabilitate our roads and fix those pesky potholes,” expressed municipal spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa.

“We kicked things off with the revitalisation of Main Reef Road and North Way Road and we’re just getting started. We have big plans to extend our efforts to other areas with the ultimate goal of rejuvenating all of Rand West. If we encounter any challenges along the way, we promise to keep you in the loop. We are fully committed to delivering top-notch service and ensuring a smoother, safer experience for everyone,” he concluded.
