Founder and director of the foundation, Mapule Ratsoeu, explained that as a person who knows what it feels like to go to bed without food, she reaches out to children in the community so they wouldn’t have to.

Looking at the children in the community who are suffering breaks my heart. The soup kitchen aims to at least ensure the children don’t go to bed hungry,” said Mapule.

She noted she started the soup kitchen nine years ago, and every winter, they feed the children in the community. Every Wednesday, they gather in Lobengula Street and hand out soup and bread.

This year, she will start her soup kitchen again in May, but she needs the community’s help with donations of soup ingredients and bread.

Any person who would like to donate can contact Mapule on 076 732 8349.
