Well-known businessman dies
The death of beloved businessperson Stoffel Ramphore left the community in tears as they attended his funeral.
The community of Mohlakeng recently gathered to mourn and celebrate the life of Stoffel Ramphore, who passed away, leaving behind a legacy.
The Mohlakeng community and congregants packed Mohlakeng St Paul’s Anglican Church to lay to rest the well-known businessperson Stoffel Ramphore, affectionately known as Bra Loss.

Born on 21 April 1944 in Losberg, Stoffel grew to become a respected businessman. He began his career as a bus driver and also dabbled in photography. A devout member of the Anglican Church, he served in various roles, always guided by his strong faith and a heart for helping others.
The funeral service commenced with glorious hymns and opening prayers. Tebogo Ramphore delivered the obituary, while Samual Ramphore concluded the sermon. The service was conducted by Father Kenny Xinwa and Paul Molefe.

“I’m new here in Mohlakeng, but I was told that Bra Loss was a Kaizer Chiefs supporter like I am,” said Kenny, lightening the sombre mood of the funeral service.
Grandchildren Kutlwano Ramphore and Palesa Molepo described him as loving and compassionate, yet tough when it mattered.
He was an astute businessperson and would want to have every cent accounted for,” said family member Pule Mokobane.
He passed away on May 8 and was buried on May 15 at Greenhills Cemetery.
