No More Tears needs you

No More Tears Animal Rescue recently received a much-needed donation and is now focusing on helping animals in underprivileged areas through their Sterilisation Outreach Campaign.

No More Tears Animal rescue recently received a much-needed donation during Trancemission, an annual fundraiser for animal organisations.

Clarisse Kruger, a volunteer at No More Tears, explained that multiple DJs came together in Randburg on May 24 to support ‘those unable to speak for themselves’. All the funds that were raised were then divided between the chosen organisations. This year, No More Tears was one of the lucky organisations chosen.

They received R14 444.42 that was paid directly into their kennel account. Visitors could also donate dog or cat food and blankets, which were also distributed among the four organisations.

Clarisse noted their kennel bill is close to R30 000, and a donation such as this makes a big difference.

People don’t realise how big the need is out there, with animals in need of help. These fundraising projects make a huge difference, no matter how big or how small the donation is; each one makes a difference,” said Clarisse.

She added that they, however, still have a big need for dog and cat food. They are also currently doing their Sterilisation Outreach Campaign, where the aim is to sterilise a minimum of 20 dogs and cats from underprivileged areas in Randfontein. They already have 14 animals currently on the list to be sterilised.

“Uncontrolled breeding is one of the biggest contributors to animal overpopulation, suffering, abuse and neglect. In our Randfontein community, many pet owners want to do the right thing, but cannot afford the cost of sterilisation,” she explained.

Clarisse continued that they hope to start the sterilisations as soon as possible and are looking to reach their goal within two months. They are asking for donations and sponsorship from businesses and individuals who would like to help with the project. She added that whether a person chooses to cover the costs of one or more animals or just donate to the project, ‘every rand will make a difference’.

Donors will also receive a formal donation letter of thanks, public recognition on their social media pages and the joy of knowing they helped save lives.

“By partnering with No More Tears Animal Rescue, you are not just making a charitable contribution, you are actively changing lives and making our community a friendlier and safer place for animals. This campaign reflects No More Tears Animal Rescue’s commitment to compassionate, preventative animal care. By addressing the root causes of overpopulation, we aim to create a sustainable and humane future for animals and communities,” stated Clarisse.

She added they would love to discuss the project with anyone interested, and can be contacted on 084 433 7748 or 064 682 5145 or 079 499 4439, or you can send an email to clarisse@nomoretears.org.za or info@nomoretears.org.za or visit their website here.

Together we can stop the tears before they start,” Clarisse concluded.
