SPCA rallies community with another pawsome fundraiser
To help combat financial challenges and invite new members, the RandWest SPCA recently held a fundraiser at Tambotie Mall.
The RandWest SPCA recently held a fundraiser to raise awareness about its struggles.
Manager René van Straten stated the SPCA has various responsibilities that need to be tended to at its Randfontein branch. These responsibilities have financial restraints such as petrol expenses, maintenance and daily care for the shelter animals.
By hosting this fundraiser, the SPCA hoped that they would receive enough funds to tackle the challenges and survive the month. In total, the SPCA raised over R1 000.
“One of the biggest challenges we are currently facing is a lack of members. With chairperson Brenda Eloff leaving us soon, we are very concerned about the future,” Van Straten said.
