Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Westgold wears pink in honour of those fighting

Westgold Primary School recently supported those in their battle against breast cancer.

Westgold Primary School celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness Day by educating learners and fashionably dressing up in pink.

As part of Westgold’s Health Promoting School Initiative, the Soul Buddyz Club facilitators and the school actively supported Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Westgold teachers did not hesitate to also wear pink.

To demonstrate their commitment, the school customised breast cancer awareness ribbons featuring the school’s name. Cansa also had a virtual presentation to educate both educators and learners about breast cancer.

According to school spokesperson Mariska du Plessis, the event aimed to support fighters in their battles against cancer, celebrate survivors’ resilience and honour loved ones lost to breast cancer.

Westgold Primary’s learners showcase their pink outfits as they support those battling cancer.

“Our school community has been personally impacted by breast cancer, with learners, educators, and staff having lost family members or battling with breast cancer. We firmly believe that charity begins at home with this day being such a huge success we were able to do something small for these individuals,” Mariska concluded.
