Westgold embarks on cleanup campaign

Westgold learners give back to the community during cleanup – one paper at a time.

Westgold Primary recently put environmental care first and gave back to the community by cleaning up the streets.

On March 8, teachers Koketso Sepato and Janie Brill along with 20 learners from the school visited the Oasis Manor and collected plastic, paper and bottles from the streets.

This initiative forms part of the Values in Education Programme that was launched by the school.

According to school spokesperson, Mariska du Plessis, this programme is focused on helping the community through environmental care.

“Environmentally responsible actions not only help the planet but also promote public health as cleaner air, reduced pollution and access to green spaces all contribute to improved mental and physical well-being for community members,” Mariska concluded.
