On April 18, Lethukuthula (6) represented South Africa in the pageant held in Cairo, Egypt. Her mother, Mandy Fakude, stated that Lethukuthula’s modelling was guided by her coach, Refilwe Mangope of Rand Models Academy.

She described Lethukuthula as ‘not just a vibrant young lady but also a passionate advocate for change’.

With a love for reading, swimming, and dancing, she possesses a dynamic spirit that inspires those around her,” said Mandy.

She added that Lethukuthula has noticed an ‘alarming neglect’ in the literacy and numeracy skills of children; for this reason, she is committed to championing education. She also aims to uplift the next generation and, in her spare time, visits local kindergartens to provide support in reading and basic mathematics.

“Her dream is ambitious yet profoundly impactful. She envisions a world where every child can read, write, and communicate in English with confidence and fluency. Lethukuthula’s unwavering determination is a testament to the power of education and its ability to transform lives. Join her in this vital mission to empower children and create a brighter future for all,” Mandy concluded.
