Head leaders at Westgold ready to lead

Head learners of West Gold Primary spoke about leadership and what it means to them.

To commemorate their inauguration, Westgold Primary’s new head leaders were asked what difference they would like to make as leaders of the school this year.

“This year, I want to ignite a spark in every student. I want to transform challenges into triumphs and turn our collective energy into a force for positive change. I want to build a legacy where kindness echoes in our hallways, where every voice is valued, and where we rise together, stronger than ever. This isn’t just about making this year good; it’s about making it unforgettable,” head boy Oabakwe Wesi expressed.

Kamogelo Sixpence, head girl, described a good leader as someone who sets an example for others and hears others’ opinions.

Deputy head boy George Harmse explained how he will be a good role model for those who follow him.

“I would show them that they should always respect the teacher and their fellow peers. I should also lead by example and do the same,” he said.

“I believe a good leader is honest, responsible, and a good listener. They lead by example, solve problems and support others. Leadership is not about power but helping people and making a positive difference,” said deputy head girl, Precious Nyanga.
