The Connie Mulder Centre in conjunction with Alma Mater Akademie in Krugersdorp will host an inter provincial gala and athletics meeting for disabled adults over two days (12 and 13 March).

The gala meeting will take place at Alma Mater Akademie and the athletics meeting at Hoërskool Jan Viljoen’s sports complex.

Fransie Hulme from the Connie Mulder Centre said, “Nine centres for disabled people from as far as Kimberley, Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom already have registered for these events.

“It is envisaged that a total of 250 disabled swimmers and athletes will participate over the two days.”

Fransie said the main objectives of these events are “to highlight the plight of people with disabilities in our country and to enhance the dignity, self-esteem, feelings of achievement and the quality of life as a whole of disabled people.”
