‘Politics is designed to make lies sound true’

Can't we see that we are being used?

• Eric Shikobela writes:

It’s high time we South Africans wake up to the realisation of the truth.

South Africa is capable of achieving great things. All we need is a visionary and tough person in leadership. We need someone who is not easily influenced by wealth and someone who will uphold the Constitution with integrity.

When we look closely at all political parties of South Africa you will realise that they are more or less the same; they don’t carry the best interests of the people.

During election season we see even parliamentarians doing door-to-door campaigns, asking people their problems as if they care. The question is one, why don’t they do the same when we are far from election season? Don’t you think that’s supposed to be part of their job description, to know the suffering and the needs of people they lead?

The answer is simple and straightforward – all they want is votes, nothing else, to empower and enrich themselves. Then they will see us again in the next elections.

We are poor but we should stop being ignorant and foolish. Can’t we see that we are being used? But we have to vote after all, it’s our democratic right they say. I advise you to vote in the best interest of your future by choosing very carefully, but knowing that there’s not much to choose from after all because politics is designed to make lies sound truthful.

I love you all, take care!
