Mile High fighters takes a stand at Rage
Fighters from Mile High Kickboxing show their steel during the Bosveld Rage in Lepalale.
Fighters from Mile High Kickboxing and Shidokan, took Lepalale by storm to compete in the annual Bosveld Rage that took place on 5 October.
According to the owner of Mile High Kickboxing and Shidokan in Randfontein, Sihan Henk Pelser, all the Mile High gyms across South Africa took part in this prestigious fighting exhibition.
He adds that the event delivered 16 action packed fights, spread over various dicciplines.
In the first fight Louis Anderson had to face Ulrich Meyerhofer. They took part in a K1 fight and Ulrich won the fight in round two by means of technical knock out.
“Simon Stander and Gulio van Deventer were next in line to take part in a K1 clash. Simon also won in round two with a technical knock out,” says Henk.
Dynert Smit and Ruan Erasmus took to the cage in a Shidokan Light Fight and Ruan surprised all by winning on points after three hard hitting rounds.
Armand Koortsen and Steven de Bruyn had the first MMA fight for the night. Armand won the fight in the first round by means of a rear naked choke.
Next up was Nico Joubert and Enrico van Asweegen who had a K1 fight. Enrico misjudged his opponent completely and nico won within the opening minute with a knock out.
The next two fighters to take the cage was Joggie Venter and Dirk Radyne who had a MMA fight. Joggie won in round two after he choked Dirk.
“Brent Oberholzer and Andre Bester put up a great display of shidokan light. Andre stood his ground for the duration of the fight, but lost on points,” says Henk.
Jason le Roux and Armand Koortsen took to the cage in a MMA fight when Armand won for the second time at the Rage after performing an arm bar on his opponent.
Eugene Pretorius and Alwyn Myburg had a MMA fight and Eugene won in the second minute of the opening round. Next up to enter the octagon was Henry Duffy and Bennie de Beer. Henry won in the third round by knock out.
“Nolan Bush and Shane Combrink also had a great MMA fight and after three hard rounds, Nolan won on points,” says Henk.
Juan van Dyk had to then face Willem Kruger in a MMA fight and Willem won in the second minute of the opening round. Jaco Louw and Robbie Streak went for three hard hitting rounds in a K1 fight, however, Jaco won on points.
“Herman Oberholzer had to face Jaundre Harold in their MMA fight. Herman won in the first round by knock out,” says Henk.
