Proteas unbeaten against Windies at Newlands

...but their number one spot at stake should they stumble.

The Proteas are looking to remain unbeaten at Sahara Park Newlands in Cape Town when they lock horns with West Indies in the third and final Test on Friday.

Captain Hashim Amla and his men lead the series 1-0, winning the first test in Centurion comfortably by an innings and 220 runs. The second was a draw due to heavy rain.

Looking back at history, the Proteas have won two out of the the three clashes at Newlands, one of the matches ending in a draw.

The South Africans will particularly be extra motivated as their number one spot on the ICC Test ranking will be at stake should they stumble and Australia beat India in the fourth test down under.

The Protea camp will be in good spirits though as AB de Villiers climbed to number one on the ICC Indivudual Test rankings. Amla is third and Steyn is already the best bowler in the world.

No changes are expected to be made in the team that played in the second test in PE.
